LIFE
Times and places,
Forgotten faces,
Hearts do break,
Some are a fake,
With a plastic smile,
Loathsome and vile,
Life's a mystery,
Immortalized through history,
Pressures of the day,
Cloud our way,
Generic in spoken word,
Left to the absurd,
Stolen truth,
From the innocent youth,
Then there's genuine love,
We all dream of,
Sharing the laughter,
Happily ever after,
So much to give,
As we strive to live,
According to plan,
Doing the best we can,
In a world so cold,
Seeking someone to hold,
Confessing our fears,
Aging throughout the years,
Show me a sign,
Of a life benign,
Relationships lost,
At a steep cost,
Love is not new,
Just waiting for you,
To take the fall,
Because they are your all,
Let the children dance,
Despite any circumstance,
Let your heart sing,
For its everything,
Joy when you were born,
In losing you we mourn,
Just live, my friend,
As if tomorrow were the end…

My Worries Melted In Your Smile
Of love and light, the stars at night, are not nearly as bright as your smile one winters day full of miracles, full of grace If I could capture that smile on you face, forever wouldn't be long enough for me to take it in. Your smile is like the moon because it keeps me looking up in the darkest times, illuminating ablaze, like a kiss on fire, blown into a sky that love will never let down. And hope was the first star that shone in the sky. If only the snow could freeze us in time; I would stay there with you, for you, forever. Your smile tells me things you'd never say, but I saw you, happy, I saw you free, a happiness and freedom that no dollar bills can or will give— a lost heart finding solace in the snow. Your smile, a sea of beauty pouring down like rain and I stood there drowning in it, seeing you able to have this at a time when you really needed it. You really were long overdo for a miracle, but you in the snow was mine. I believe you're an angel in the

The poet's wrenched cries of longing Laced with tragic glory Remind me of the days I could be satisfied With absence, emptiness-- Sweet, sharp nothings That lashed my gut And which somehow I still called filling. Fitting now to see I am no longer Content with nothing; Fear does not drive me Quite so readily Into hollow arms, Faceless whispers, Stillborn dreams, Whose power lies In keeping the eyes Fixed on what is impossible So as never to attempt the possible: A disappointing recipe to outskirt all meaningful disappointment. It works, but it does not warm the soul. These days I am more focused on becoming whole. I have summoned my courage to face the Real. Healing is in the everyday, hands and hearts That accompany hour by hour, forthright and fumbling. It is humbling to love and be loved. Yes, I prefer the dirt and dust of love To all the lofty, unlivable castles in the sky. The poet's lascivious sorrow has left my song. I pine not. I hunger no more. I am not afraid of
